Now is the time to make our communities stronger by using a trusted app that enables us to warn each other of alarming/dangerous activity relevant to where we are in real time. BlockWatch is used while we are out and about shopping, at events, school, work, at home, etc.
No longer is a watch restricted to your neighborhood watch boundaries, post anywhere you are with.
A connected community, is a protected community. With the BlockWatch app you can create an alert and help with community awareness in less than 60 seconds!
Post about dangerous/alarming activity without revealing your identity; privacy is paramount.
Receive alerts in real-time on your iOS or Android mobile device whether you are at home or away.
At BlockWatch safety comes first, ALWAYS. When you create an alert or receive an alert from BlockWatch you should do the following
To kickstart the NEW community safety BlockWatch app you must share it with others. BlockWatch is much stronger in areas where each community member has taken the initiative to share it with everyone. Any traditional neighborhood watch or block watch knows that the watch is only as strong as the people are connected. The BlockWatch app was built to do this at the highest level, and we look forward to keeping our users safer with our software!
Members keep watch, and send anonymous alerts of any suspicious activity anywhere they are.
Stay in the know with real-time alerts of what’s going on in your commuinty.
Push your neighborhood button and then long press or hold for 3 seconds on the screen where you want to have your neighborhood.
This is because your “Near Me” or “Neighborhood” area has no recent alerts!
When the owl hoots at you that means an alert was posted recently.
Share the app with anyone by tapping on the owl in the “Post” area and pushing “Share App”. Or just text them and tell them to search for BlockWatch in the app stores….just look for the owl and that’s us!
Reach out to us here on our website or email support@blockwatch.org. We will be in touch ASAP!
User must push “Watch This Area” in each new location to have BlockWatch send alerts for that area. This ensures user does not get overwhelmed with alerts from the entire city.
The digital BlockWatch started as a blog, then a neighborhood website, and then we received funding to build a community safety app with an emphasis on alerts outside of the neighborhood. Members of the community continue to teach us what we need to do to build the best 21st-century safety app while we navigate these unprecedented times together.
I take pride in being a part of the BlockWatch team; they are all in when it comes to safety, and building easy-to-use software. Awareness has always been a vital part of safety, and as a company, we continue to reinvest our time and resources in community awareness via BlockWatch crowdsource technology. We will never put business before the safety of our users, and are excited to thrive together in our communities today!
